One Piece Chapter 1198

One Piece 1198 Predictions: Will Sanji Beat Killingham?

Spoiler warning: this article talks about everything that happened in One Piece Chapter 1197. Nothing about Chapter 1198 has leaked yet: everything below is prediction, not spoilers.

Chapter 1197 ended with the moment Sanji fans have waited years for: black lightning around Sanji, a Conqueror’s Haki kick that shattered Killingham’s helmet, and the Holy Knight spitting blood. One Piece Chapter 1198 comes out on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 15:00 UTC (release times for every country), and the big question is simple: will Sanji beat Killingham? Here is what we think happens next.

Where Chapter 1197 left Sanji and Killingham

In “Love is Defense”, Sanji stopped treating his body as something to throw away, called himself Luffy’s shield next to Zoro the sword, and pushed his Armament Haki to a new level. When Killingham covered himself in Omen armor that only Conqueror’s Haki can break, Sanji answered with exactly that. The chapter ends with Killingham hurt, but an immortal knight does not go down from one kick. (Full Chapter 1197 recap here.)

Our prediction: Sanji puts Conqueror’s Haki in his legs and beats Killingham

This is our pick for Chapter 1198, and it comes straight from how Sanji fights. Sanji is one of the smartest fighters on the crew. He reads opponents, adapts in the middle of a fight, and never wastes a move. In Chapter 1197 the Conqueror’s Haki came out in a burst of emotion. In Chapter 1198, we think Sanji works out how to control it.

• Conqueror’s Haki coating, but in his legs. Only the strongest fighters in the story can coat their attacks in Conqueror’s Haki: Roger, Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom, Shanks, and in Wano, Luffy and Zoro. Sanji only fights with his legs to protect a cook’s hands, so his version would be unique: every kick wrapped in black lightning.
• Ifrit Jambe plus Conqueror’s Haki. The new, freer flame from Chapter 1197 looks like the perfect base. Fire, Armament Haki and Conqueror’s Haki together could be the only thing that gets through Omen armor again and again, not just once.
• Brains over brute force. Instead of trading hits with an immortal, we expect Sanji to find the weak point: break Killingham’s weapon and armor first, then finish him while the knight cannot defend.
• Sanji wins. We think Chapter 1198 ends the fight, or at least shows Killingham unable to keep going. After a chapter about Sanji finally valuing himself, a clean win is the payoff the story is building to.

Why we believe it: Oda rarely gives a character a power-up and then makes them lose straight away. Luffy beat Kaido after unlocking Gear 5, and Zoro beat King after mastering Conqueror’s coating with Enma. Sanji’s moment has arrived, and Killingham is his King.

Other predictions for One Piece Chapter 1198

Killingham’s immortality is tested

The Holy Knights are said to be immortal, yet Killingham bled. If Conqueror’s Haki can hurt him, it may also be the key to beating the other knights on Elbaph. Chapter 1198 could show whether he heals or whether this damage stays.

Killingham’s counterattack

Before Sanji can win, expect one last big attack from Killingham, maybe without his spear Longinus. That would be the perfect test for Sanji’s new defense: block it, stand up, and hit back.

A cut to Zoro’s fight

If Sanji is the shield, the sword is next. Oda likes to mirror the “wings of the Pirate King”, so Chapter 1198 could switch to Zoro, either after Sanji’s win or in the middle of the fight to build suspense.

Luffy and the giants of Elbaph react

A Conqueror’s Haki clash on Elbaph would be felt across the island. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Luffy sense Sanji’s new power and grin.

What the official preview says

The only official hint for Chapter 1198 is the preview line: “A fierce battle in Elbaf! What will become of the Straw Hat crew…!?” It promises a big fight, but does not say who. Real hints usually appear on Wednesday and full spoilers on Thursday or Friday. We will add them, clearly marked and hidden behind a spoiler button, on the Chapter 1198 page.

One Piece Chapter 1198 predictions: FAQ
